The Kakuma Empowerment Program (KEP) empowers refugee youth through education and mentorship while promoting inclusive learning and BridgeED.
For young people facing displacement and limited educational opportunities, access to quality learning and meaningful guidance can make a lasting difference.
The Kakuma Empowerment Program works to empower refugee youth through education and mentorship while promoting inclusive learning and girls’ education.
Our approach combines academic support, mentorship, and educational opportunities to help young people develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills they need to pursue their goals and contribute positively to their communities.
Refugee youth can face challenges that interrupt their education and limit their opportunities. Displacement, difficult circumstances, and limited access to educational support can make it harder for young people to reach their potential. We believe empowering refugee youth can build confidence, create opportunities, and strengthen communities.
Helping young people develop knowledge, skills, and confidence to overcome challenges and pursue their aspirations.
Providing educational support and pathways that help young people prepare for future opportunities.
Supporting young people to become capable and engaged members of their communities.
Promoting equal access to quality education, including opportunities for girls to learn, lead and succeed.
Our programmes provide practical educational support, guidance and opportunities designed to help refugee youth and other disadvantaged young people learn, grow and pursue their goals.
We provide targeted academic support for Form Three and Form Four refugee youth, asylum seekers, and members of the host community. Our tutoring includes English and Swahili, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, and exam preparation, along with personalised academic support and life skills.
